Today Ms. Mathes' 6th grade Reading/Language Art students enjoyed a game of Quidditch during their class period. The students are reading Harry Potter books and Quidditch is a game from the book. Instead of riding on broomsticks, players used their legs and ran, with the object being to throw the ball through the opponent's hoop. While the game was going on, the "seekers" (1 on each team) searched for the Golden Snitch that was hidden. Finding the Golden Snitch could secure victory for a team, as it was worth 30 points.

Leading up to last Thursday's VMS Spring Dance, which featured a Luau theme, students and teachers alike took part in a Lei -- Rock, Paper, Scissors contest. Everyone was given a lei to wear earlier in the week, and they could challenge each other to a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors throughout the week, with the winner taking the loser's lei. A prize was given to the student who collected the most leis and winning the contest was Ayden Valderrama. Everyone had a blast at our Luau Spring Dance!!
